How to use this tool
- Add audio · WAV / MP3 / FLAC
- Select a waveform region by dragging, or enter exact times. Drag clips on the timeline; numeric fields provide precise placement.
- Export audio · WAV / MP3 / FLAC
Edit local WAV, MP3 and FLAC files with a waveform, precise selection and reversible operations.
Use the waveform for a quick overview and the time fields for precise edits. A clip is a region of a source; a track controls where it is placed and how it contributes to a mix. Selected-clip export and whole-mix export serve different purposes. Choose the scope deliberately, and listen to the downloaded result.
Start with a local audio file. Standard mono and stereo WAV, MP3 and FLAC are supported, subject to browser decoding. After importing, drag across the waveform or enter exact start and end times. Cut, copy, paste, trim, delete, reverse and silence operate on a working copy. Your original file is not rewritten. Removing every sample is blocked instead of producing an empty file.
The same workspace also offers a small multitrack arrangement. Set a clip start, source in and out points, fades, track gain and pan. Mute and solo help audition layers. Numeric controls provide an alternative to dragging. Tempo estimation is an aid, not a reliable answer for every recording: speech, free rhythm and ambiguous beats should be checked before using snap.
Export creates a new download. Choose WAV or FLAC at 16 or 24 bits, or MP3 at 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps. Sample-rate choices are 44.1 and 48 kHz. Mono averages the left and right channels; stereo retains two channels. Re-encoding MP3 is lossy. Exporting an MP3 source as WAV or FLAC does not recover information already lost in compression.
Audio, microphone samples, projects and output stay on your device. There is no account, audio upload, remote URL importer, analytics script or external font. The browser downloads site code and local encoders first. Once those assets have loaded, editing can continue without a connection; this is not a promise that a new browser session can reopen the site offline.
Browser storage is optional. Audio enters IndexedDB only after Save draft in this browser is clicked. Clear workspace does not erase a saved draft; use Delete browser draft for that. Downloaded AMSS projects contain decoded audio and arrangement settings. They are not original-file containers or cloud backups. Save a portable project before closing important work.
Resource limits are deliberate. The desktop profile allows 25 MiB per input, 64 MiB of retained original files, 128 MiB of decoded audio, ten minutes, eight tracks and thirty-two clips. Touch profiles are smaller. Compressed size does not predict memory use, and these limits cannot guarantee that every device avoids memory pressure. Audition a short sample first, keep original files and process only material you have permission to use.
Frequently asked questions
Is my audio uploaded?
No. Audio, recording, effects and encoding run locally. The website serves application assets only.
Must I preview before exporting?
No. Export is available after audio is imported. Preview is an optional listening check.
Why does MP3 to FLAC not sound clearer?
A lossless container cannot restore information already discarded by the source MP3.
How can I continue after closing the tab?
Download an AMSS project or explicitly save a browser draft. There is no automatic audio saving or cloud backup.
